Al Jones is President of the Ginn Lifestyles Group, a division of the company that manages all aspects of the Featured Builders Program, fiber-to-the-home technology, property management and security for all homeowners and properties in Ginn Resorts™ communities.
Jones began his tenure with Ginn Resorts in 2002 as the President of the Southeastern Region, overseeing all properties in Southeast Florida and The Bahamas.
After starting his career in 1967 with Fairdale Builders, Inc. in Fairfax, S.C., with his father, he moved in 1974 to Hilton Head, S.C., where he worked as the President of the Atlantis Development Company, a public resort company.
For the next 16 years, he was involved with numerous Hilton Head developments, including Hilton Head Company Realty (Marathon Oil Company), where he served for five years as managing general partner of the firm, the largest brokerage company in South Carolina.
During his tenure, he was responsible for planning, sales, marketing, management and development of prime resort properties such as Port Royal Plantation, Evian Luxury Condominiums, the Village at Wexford and Wexford Plantation. He also was instrumental in bringing the first Seniors PGA Golf Tournament and several important tennis tournaments to Hilton Head. He was also the co-manager of the development of the 416 room Intercontinental Hotel on Hilton Head which was the first 5 Star Hotel in South Carolina.
Prior to joining Ginn Resorts, he served as deputy chairman and chief executive officer of Discovery Bay Holding’s Limited, an 80-acre oceanfront Resort in Freeport/Lucaya, Grand Bahama Island and, simultaneously, as chairman of Kings Creek Plantation, a highly rated vacation resort in Williamsburg, VA.
Jones graduated in 1967 from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration. Jones was a Trustee for the College of Charleston for 11 years and a Trustee for Lander College and Francis Marion College for more than two years.
