On loan to the Ladies Professional Golf Association in 1994, he set up their golf operations at the LPGA International Golf Club headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida.
From 1995 to 2000, Thompson was Director of Golf at the Palm Coast Resort, and joined Ginn Clubs & Resorts in 2000 as General Manager of the Rivertowne Country Club™ near Charleston, South Carolina.
